Who we are

Riffomatic 3000 (“Riffomatic”, “we”, “us”) is made and run by [legal name], a sole trader in Australia (ABN [ABN]). You can contact us at [contact email].

What Riffomatic is

Riffomatic is a web app that generates looping chord progressions and melodies in a key and mode you choose. It shows them as notation and guitar tab, and plays them back. Making, playing and sharing sketches are free and need no account.

Riffomatic Pro is an optional one-off purchase. It currently adds downloading sketches as MIDI files. New Pro features are added to it at no extra cost. There’s no subscription.

Buying Pro

Our order process is run by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all our orders: it takes payment, issues your receipt, collects and pays any sales tax, VAT or GST, and handles customer service enquiries and returns about payments. Paddle’s buyer terms also apply to your purchase. The price is shown before you pay.

After you pay, you get a licence key. Pasting it into Riffomatic unlocks Pro in that browser. The key is stored only in your browser, so keep a copy (your receipt email has it) to unlock Pro on another device or after clearing your browser’s data.

Your licence

The music you make

You own what you make with Riffomatic: the chord progressions, melodies, notation and MIDI files it generates for you. You can use them in your own music, including music you sell or publish, without crediting us. We claim no rights in them. Generated material is built from common musical patterns, so others may create similar or identical progressions or melodies.

Using Riffomatic

Changes and availability

We work on Riffomatic all the time, so features change. We may change or stop free features. If we ever stop offering Riffomatic, we’ll give at least [30] days’ notice on the site. We aim to keep the site available, but can’t promise it will always be up or free of errors.

Your rights under consumer law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or changes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer protection laws that can’t be excluded, including guarantees about the quality of what you buy. Otherwise, and as far as the law allows, Riffomatic is provided “as is”. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro. We aren’t liable for losses that weren’t reasonably foreseeable.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date above shows when they last changed. Changes don’t take away Pro features you’ve already paid for.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of [state or territory], Australia.
